Saint Paul, MN – The Marketing Research Education Foundation (MREF) will hold the Race
Around the World for Education, a 25,000-mile virtual race to help educate children around the
world. 90% of the funds raised will benefit UNICEF’s work in education worldwide, providing
learning opportunities for the most marginalized children in the world. Learn more about this
essential work at unicefusa.org/mission/protect/education.
During the race, individuals throughout the market research industry will log the miles they
walk, bike and run during the month of June 2021 – 30 days to complete a virtual walk around
the world and raise $100,000 to support global education for youth. MREF will sponsor the first
5,000 miles (a $20,000 gift).
MR organizations can participate by sponsoring the event. All sponsor levels include industrywide
visibility and the opportunity to create a race team (or teams) – including family, friends,
non-industry colleagues or clients. Participation is free for individuals and anyone is welcome to
join the MREF team and/or make a donation.
Some fun facts:
Participants will log their miles on the race website as part of a company team and will be able to see their progress compared to others in the industry.
The top five individuals with the highest number of logged miles, broken out by walk, run and bike, will each receive a $100 Visa Gift Card.
All participants will receive a customized race bib and number that can be downloaded and printed as desired (and used as proof for insurance companies that support healthy activities!).
Participants will receive milestone badges when they reach goals: participation for days in a row, number of miles, etc.
There is an easy portal to share photos and encourage each other.
